Jersey, Channel Islands

2011 - 2019

David Greaves, a former resident of Jersey, returned to the island after his release from jail. Despite his criminal history, he managed to secure a job as a deputy manager at a hotel, leveraging his charm and manipulation tactics to build a network of contacts. Between 2016 and 2018, he defrauded the hotel of a substantial amount of money before being caught.

Simultaneously, Greaves was performing consulting work for a fast food restaurant, where he also engaged in fraudulent activities, siphoning off tens of thousands of pounds. When charges were laid against him by both the hotel and the fast food restaurant in 2018, he began targeting the wider community while out on bail.

During this time, Greaves defrauded small businesses and individuals indiscriminately. He caused the collapse of a small takeaway restaurant by embezzling all its funds. Additionally, he deceived families out of thousands of pounds through rental scams. Greaves even betrayed the trust of those who considered him a friend, stealing money from them without hesitation.

“We are asking the public to help us find this man. 41-year-old David Greaves is wanted by police for numerous frauds committed against local businesses and a number of individuals over a three year period.

Greaves left the Island in 2019 and his whereabouts are unknown. It is believed that he may be working and living in Europe however, all possible lines of enquiry have been exhausted. Greaves is 6’2 tall and a heavy set man, however, his build could have changed over the last few years.

Greaves is a serial fraudster and will, no doubt be committing further offences wherever he is now. We would like to bring him back to Jersey to face justice.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to get in touch. Tel: 01534 612962, email hello@jersey.police.je or via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or using their anonymous online form at www.Crimestoppers-uk.org
